The Auto Blip feature applies a short burst of throttle when the driver is down-shifting, which is particularly useful under braking. This raises the RPM to help provide a smooth entry into the lower gear by reducing the engine-braking effect.
Based upon the Rotrex C30-94 Centrifugal design with superior efficiency, silent operation and self contained oiling system, combined with it’s unique patented traction drive technology it offers the smoothest linear power delivery. The supercharger supplies airflow of up to 0.39kg/s reaching impeller speeds of up to 100,000RPM combining small size with exceptional performance & durability.

The reusable foam air filter can be cleaned at service to maintain maximum performance & air filtration properties.
Using industry leading ECU tuning allowing a true and clean re-calibration of the standard ECU.
Our MX5 supercharger is calibrated using a powerful tools to add special features such as Launch control and switchable maps.
Our Stage 2 Supercharger delivers 280/300bhp, 75-85% more than a stock Mazda MX5, whilst our Stage 1 Supercharger develops 230/250 bhp.
That is 50-60% more than stock depending on the type of exhaust manifold (and primary diameter).

Housing a 500BHP fuel pump and boost compensated fuel pressure regulator we overcome the fuel pressure drop found on the stock system. This means we can use smaller injectors to maintain OEM idle and drivability characteristics. Finished off with an engine bay mounted fuel filter and billet anodised bracket, this now makes fuel filter changes possible unlike the stock system.
The BBR Stage One supercharged conversion is available now for all 1.8, 2.0 and 2.5-litre (engine transplant) 2005-2015 MX-5 (NC) models at a cost of £4995* on a fully fitted ‘drive-in, drive-out’ basis from BBR. The DIY version, intended for export and competent mechanics, is also available as hardware only £4095, including comprehensive instructions and technical support, or including BBR software with either EcuTek ProEcu or ECU Connect programming cables stating at £4590.

We restrict the Stage 2 kit to 300 BHP to maintain reliability on the stock engine. A forged engine and other supporting hardware is required to maintain 400+ BHP. Please contact us for more information.
An uprated exhaust manifold is required for both kits. For Stage 2 we recommend an uprated clutch & full exhaust system.

With any performance vehicle we always recommend the use of the best fuel available to you. Our preferred choice is Shell V Power (99RON). Lower octane calibrations are available.
The MX5 has a very good stock brake setup, if used on the track or driven hard we recommend a disc and pad upgrade. Please contact us for more information
The MX5 is a very nicely balanced and setup from the factory. We recommend a good alignment setup and a set of BBR lower springs with Koni dampers if driving hard or on track, for more track focused coilover options please contact us for more information.

At cruise conditions the fuel economy should be unaffected.
The Rotrex oil should be changed every 50,000 miles or two years whichever comes sooner.
This kit will only fit the 2005 - 2015 Mazda MX5 NC. While development has been completed on a 2.0 engine this kit will also fit the 1.8. (power fiqures for the 1.8 will differ to the 2.0)
