Launch control

Get the best standing start possible with our special launch control feature. Set your RPM launch point and then let the ECU do the rest to manage traction off the line.

User adjustable launch points only available for models fitted with cruise control, otherwise possible with ECU Connect.

The BBR Stage One supercharged conversion carries a 12 month warranty.

faq

It says that the Rotrex c30-94 is capable of 400+ bhp - how do i get this? 

The Mazda MX-5 SkyActiv-G is a high compression small ported lightweight engine built with economy in-mind. Increasing the boost pressure and performance will require replacement of the weak OEM conecting rods and at this stage reducing the compression ratio is desirable as is transmission replacement. Please contact us for more information.

do i require any other parts for the supercharger kit?

All parts are included for both BBR Stage One and Two conversions, please consider our larger Forge Motorsport intercooler option for hard use.

can i buy the kit and fit it myself?

Yes, for competent enthusiasts the kit is available from our website.

do i have to use high octane fuel? 

With any performance vehicle we always recommend the use of the best fuel available to you. Our preferred choice is Shell V Power (99RON). Lower octane calibrations are available.

do i need to upgrade my brakes?

For normal road use the ND MX-5 has a good brake setup, if used on the track or driven hard we recommend a disc and pad, or brake caliper upgrade.

do i need to upgrade my Suspension?

The MX5 is a very nicely balanced and setup from the factory. We recommend a good alignment setup and a set of BBR lower springs with Koni dampers if driving hard or on track, for more track focused coilover options please contact us for more information.

what warranty is avaliable with the kits?

1 year parts on all components

will the kit affect fuel economy?

At cruise conditions the fuel economy should be unaffected.

does the supercharger require maintainance?

The Rotrex oil should be changed every 50,000 miles or two years whichever comes sooner.

does this kit fit other mx-5's?

This kit will only fit the 2005 - 2015 Mazda MX5 NC. While development has been completed on a 2.0 engine this kit will also fit the 1.8. (power fiqures for the 1.8 will differ to the 2.0)

We will be updating the site with NA, NB and ND versions as and when they launch.

I HAVE A 2019 OR LATER 184PS VERSION – IS THIS AN OPTION?

Unfortunately the later 2019 have a completely different ECU (Engine Control Unit) along with a different processor, this is something that we are currently working on which must be perfect before release. A hardware only version can be purchased for motorsport use with an aftermarket (replacement) ECU.

I HAVE A 1.5 LITRE ENGINE – IS THIS AN OPTION?
